Abstract

One of the priorities of teaching in the contemporary school is to help students become autonomous agents who manage their learning. The role that the teacher must play in learning is that of mediator and counselor, in order to provide students with the necessary tools so that they learn to organize and direct their own study processes and activities. In this sense, a study is carried out with the objective of implementing various pedagogical strategies to develop the teaching-learning process actively and with influence on the achievement of autonomous and significant student learning. The scope is associated with students from the Technical University of Babahoyo, Faculty of Education Sciences. It is based on the application of theoretical research methods such as analysis - synthesis and induction - deduction in the search for previous experiences and successful regularities that serve as theoretical support for the proposals that are made; and consequently, a set of necessary skills to be possessed by students to facilitate the processes of developing knowledge self-regulation skills are determined. The Delphi Method is applied to a group of teachers of the institution to determine the skills to work in the specific historical conditions of the faculty on the basis of those previously selected. As results, a work guide is provided for the preparation of the strategies and the concretion of one of them in the aforementioned faculty.
