The Just in Time methodology as a key factor in SMEs in the textile sector

Abstract

At present, SMEs in the textile sector face a series of challenges, one of them is the high degree of competitiveness they have with other companies, as well as their lack of capacity to meet different orders in the precise time. resulting in dissatisfied customers or deficient products, which is why it is essential that the textile sector improve its procedures and this is possible with the Just in Time (JIT) methodology, which allows the product to be finished and delivered on time and eliminate waste. It is for this reason that this research will analyze the most relevant items about SMEs in the textile sector and how the JIT methodology is a key factor for their growth and competitiveness both inside and outside of Ecuador. The methodology used is based on a bibliographic design of a documentary type, through which a systematic review of scientific articles and research is carried out, in order to conclude that textile organizations must make use of the JIT methodology in order that their production processes are effective and efficient, thus ensuring that its products are of high quality, suitable for national and international competition.
